A new season of Money Heist, one of the most popular shows on television, may be on the way. With the help of writer Lex Pina, the series Money Heist, or La Casa de Appeal, follows the Professor (Varo Mortem) as he meticulously plans two heists, with Tokyo (Sula Corriero) providing an unreliable eyewitness account. Their prearranged strategy must be carried out as they keep hostages and cope with police troops. Is the programmer going to be renewed for another season after the second heist in Money Heist Part 5?
The Spanish television network Antea 3 originally planned to air only 15 episodes of “La Casa de Papal.” When Netflix bought the worldwide streaming rights to Money Heist at the end of 2017, it didn’t have a focused marketing effort to promote the show. Despite this, the two-part series became the most-watched non-English language series on the streaming site in early 2018, with the majority of its viewers coming from Europe and Latin American countries. Money Heist’s fan favorite robbery captain, Berlin, died at the end of season 2, although he has appeared in flashbacks throughout the Bank of Spain heist. In the first two seasons of Money Heist, Berlin (actual name Andrés de Fonollosa) was more of a villain than a protagonist, but the lines are blurred in a show where the “heroes” are a gang of bank robbers.
His guidelines for not injuring any of the hostages were stringent. But Berlin, the new head of the group inside the building, quickly broke the professor’s rule by killing a prisoner, Mónica Gaztambide, for hiding a phone. Berlin also forcibly sexually interacted with another hostage, Ariana, and exhibited obviously misogynistic attitudes. Despite his many blunders, Berlin was a captivating screen personality, as was Alonso.
The showrunner of Money Heist, Lex Pina, has stated that he was under pressure to remove Berlin from the show.In the making-of documentary Money Heist: The Phenomenon, Pina recalled, “Someone said to me: ‘This character doesn’t fit with the times. You should take him out of the series. ” Pina refused, however, arguing that the character’s psychopathy helped to keep things interesting. Instead, the decision to kill off Berlin was most likely born out of a belief that there would only ever be one heist, and that if the show wasn’t going to return, then its silver-tongued antihero might as well go out in a blaze of glory.
Will there be a Money Heist season 6?
When Money Heist originally aired on Spanish television (as La Casa de Papel), it was a flop. Speaking to Drama Quarterly, Pina said that from the start, “the TV channel wasn’t convinced” and that the two-part structure of the Royal Mint heist was due to financial limitations. “That’s how it was viable,” Pina said. It was created in five months. We started writing, and each week we delivered the script. Production was a race against the clock. ” Money Heist first began airing in May 2017, and filming on Part 2 didn’t conclude until August 2017, which meant that even as the writers were scrambling to put together scripts, the ratings were tanking. The series order was cut from 18–21 episodes to just 15. At the time, Money Heist looked like it was doomed to be a one-season wonder.
After Berlin died in a hail of bullets, however, Netflix acquired exclusive global streaming rights to Money Heist, and the show became a surprise international sensation. Within a few months of being added to Netflix’s library, it was the most-watched non-English language series in the streaming service’s history. Money Heist was renewed for parts 3 and 4, and Pina signed an overall deal with Netflix that included other projects (White Lines, his latest show, released this year).
Fortunately, Money Heist’s structure already had a built-in way of getting around Berlin’s rather final death: flashbacks. When the rest of the crew returned to rob the Bank of Spain in Money Heist season 3, Berlin was also brought back via flashbacks to the planning of the heist. The show introduced an old criminal associate of Berlin’s, Palermo, to play a similarly antagonistic role within the crew, and gradually revealed the details of Berlin and Palermo’s history. Whether you love him, hate him, or love to hate him, Berlin will return for the final chapter of the Bank of Spain heist in Money Heist season 5.
What The Money Heist Cast Has Said About The End.
Despite the fact that Money Heist fans were begging for a second season, the show’s conclusion came at the perfect time. During an interview with Metro, Lazare Morten, who plays the Professor, expressed his agreement with this by stating, “The programmer is coming to an end because it has to come to an end.” Because the characters’ abilities have already been tested in previous seasons, it is genuinely best that Money Heist concludes at its apex rather than dragging the story out for another season.
